RCMP arrest 3 people after shots fired near police station in Surrey

Surrey RCMP arrested three people in connection with a shooting this weekend in the Guildford area.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 1:17 am on May 5, when officers heard the sound of gunfire, just east of the Surrey RCMP’s Guildford District Office.

The officers patrolled the area and located an injured man in the 10300 block of 149A Street. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area and was located in the 9500 block of 120 Street with the assistance of the BC RCMP’s Air 1 Helicopter.

Three individuals associated with the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody. Two people have since been charged in relation to the shooting, while the third person was released without charges.

On Monday, officers executed search warrants in the 9500 block of 120 Street as part of the on-going investigation. Investigators believe that this was a targeted attack.

The Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) is continuing to investigate. No further details are being released at this time.
