Gotta catch em' all: Pokémon GO takes over Vancouver

Jul 12 2016, 2:56 am

Pokémon GO isn’t even officially available for gamers in Canada yet, but that hasn’t stopped the augmented reality game from taking over Vancouver.

The app, which has shot to the top of download charts and started challenged the likes of Tinder and even Twitter in terms of active users; has taken the world by storm since its release on Thursday, July 6.

Since then Vancouver has been awash with gamers glued to their cellphones as they attempt to capture Mewtwos, Drowzees, and even the occasional Rhydon.

And fortunately people have been there to capture their attempts to catch em’ all.

We’ve also spotted a few crowds forming near the Daily Hive Vancouver offices…

There’s even an official Facebook group –  Pokémon GO – Vancouver – which has been created for Vancouver trainers to gather and share their stories and stops.

Gamers have also taken to the group to post images of fans gathered in parking lot, malls, and even Stanley Park as they attempt to snare  their next Pokémon.

Jeff Mak also captured pictures of a group of around 40 gamers in Stanley Park at midnight on Saturday, alongside a group of parked cars containing avid gamers in Richmond.
