Love always wins: PlentyOfFish couple proves distance is no obstacle

Every couple navigating the highs and lows of a long distance relationship recognizes that it’s difficult to spend special occasions apart – especially Valentine’s Day.

For Johnny and Kristen, a couple who met on the dating site PlentyOfFish and currently live in separate states, distance is no hurdle this February 14.

After learning about the couple’s long distance relationship (Kristen hails from New Jersey and Johnny from Pennsylvania) PlentyOfFish decided to bridge the gap by surprising the couple for their first Valentine’s Day by flying them into Vancouver for an all-expenses paid romantic weekend getaway.

The couple, who are only able to meet in person every few weeks, headed up to Whistler where they were able to spend some quality time skiing, snowshoeing and bobsledding together before going their separate ways at the end of the trip.

“At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how much money you have to spend or how much time you have to spend apart, you keep going because it will pay off,” said Kristen. When asked about advice for other couples who spend extended periods apart, Johnny replied “It’s all worth it in the end.”

This Valentine’s Day, Love > Distance.
