Playland officially opens for the season this Saturday, May 6 at 10am!
And alongside all their favourite attractions, this year visitors will even have the opportunity to enjoy three all-new rides.
Built by legendary ride makers in Italy, the trio of new family-friendly attractions are valued at a combined $1.8 million offering a significant upgrade for this year’s Playland. Guaranteed to wow younger visitors; the new rides include the aptly named Flutterbye, Dizzy Drop and Bug Whirled
In total there are 35 rides and attractions to enjoy, 14 of which offer an extreme experience for those who dare to ride them.
Those attractions include fan favourites including the the Hellevator, the Wooden Roller Coaster, and of course The Beast, the massive pendulum that stands 12 storeys tall and delivers five g’s of force as it swings thrill-seekers at speeds of up to 90km/h.
Playland’s favourite food vendors also return for 2017, including Triple-O’s, Fun Dunkers Donut Stands, Pizza Pizza, Cheese Please, Colossal Cones, and What the Fudge. New to this year’s park is Beaver Tails which will be serving Canadian classics such as poutine, and of course beaver tails. Introduced at last year’s Fair, Gone Fishing will make its Playland debut, serving up Ocean Wise fish. Guests can expect hand-dipped battered fish, tacos, wild salmon and more.
For the time being, Playland will only be open on weekends until June 25 when it will open up during the week.
2017 Playland Season Passes start at $94 (Junior Season Pass at $56). Single day passes start at $33 (Junior Single Day Pass at $25).*
