Following the record-breaking success of the Vancouver-filmed Deadpool movie, a petition to have a statue erected in the fictional character’s hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan is picking up steam online.

The petition, which has 2,201 of the suggest 5,000 signatures at the time of writing, suggests that after the character announced that he’s from “Regina, Saskatchewan, the town that rhymes with fun,” a statue should be erected to “show our pride of being a great superhero’s hometown.”

The Ryan Reynolds-starring movie has been making headlines recently after enjoying the biggest opening weekend of any R-rated movie in history. It’s also been a hit with local film fans after showcasing a number of Vancouver landmarks.

To add your name to the petition, and help make Regina into Deadpool’s town, fill the form out online.
