The Vancouver Police Department has identified a person-of-interest in the death of a 60-year-old Vancouver man after he was beat on Robson Street and later found unresponsive in his apartment.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on August 11 outside the Shenanigan’s Nightclub on Robson and Bute Street. A 26-year-old man, now identified by police, allegedly beat another man, the 60-year-old victim. He was knocked to the ground and hit his head, resulting in what were believed to be minor injuries. He was taken to hospital where he declined treatment and left.

Shortly after, an ambulance was called to a West End apartment where they found him unconscious on the ground. He was taken back to hospital where they found he had severe brain bleeding. He died the next morning on August 12.

Police have now identified a 26-year-old Vancouver man who is believed to have been the other person involved in the altercation. They say the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid.
