Rejoice, Vancouver, patio season has officially begun.

The City announced that restaurants may now apply to keep their patios open until 1 a.m. throughout the summer. The party ends in October.

A whopping 300 patios are eligible for the extension; previous years saw 200 applications approved by the city.

If you’re a restauranteur and you want to keep your patio open late, here’s what you need to know:

  • You must have up-to-date insurance
  • All fees must be paid in full
  • You must not have any patio-related noise complaints on file in the past year

The program for extended patio hours originally launched in 2013 and has since grown.

So which Vancouver patio is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below.
