Take a look inside Canada's first pod hotel opening up in Whistler (PHOTOS)

Canada’s first pod hotel is now open in Whistler, BC and we’re excited to be here for it.

This is the perfect compromise between splurging on a hotel and risking all the weird stuff that comes with a hostel (I’m lookin’ at you, drunk German guy who thought my bed was his own).

Featuring 88 private sleeping pods and over 60 bathroom facilities, Pangea Pod Hotel caters to the value-conscious traveller who is looking for a nice, clean bed and bathroom facilities with a reasonable amount of privacy.

The first hotel of its kind in Canada, Pangea’s rooms will, at most, cost half the price of a conventional hotel room, and usually far less. This new style of accommodation will make the resort more accessible to solo and budget travellers wishing to experience all that Whistler has to offer.

We can confirm that the pods are actually quite spacious with a comfortable double bed, memory foam mattress, built-in fan, lockable cabinet, hanging space for clothes, and storage area for luggage. They’ve got everything you need for a comfortable night’s sleep without breaking the bank.

Here’s a first look:
