Vancouver's biggest casual bike ride is hosting a huge free festival this weekend

Aug 11 2017, 2:08 am

Vancouver’s first ever non-competitive bike ride and festival is happening this weekend.

Our Cityride, taking place on Saturday, August 19, gives riders the ability to take as long as they want cycling the scenic 17-kilometre course, which starts in Yaletown and passes through Chinatown, Gastown, Stanley Park, and English Bay, before ending back at David Lam Park.

The ride kicks off at 5 pm, and whenever you’re finished cycling the downtown traffic-free loop, hit up the festival at the finish line.

Immerse yourself in this buzzing atmosphere right in the heart of the city where you’ll find multiple exhibitors, a beer garden, and food trucks. Entrance to the festival is free and open to the public.

You can register for Our Cityride online now to enjoy all of the fun happenings on August 19. Attendees under the age of 18 ride for free and it costs $20 for older entrants.

To make signing up an easier decision, everyone registered for the ride will be entered into a grand prize draw from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which includes four return business class flights to Amsterdam from Vancouver, plus hotel stay. A second prize of two economy return tickets will also be given out, along with other prizes like Canucks tickets, a NORCO bike, and Whitecaps tickets.

All participants will also receive a $35 gift certificate from local urban athletic apparel brand RYU and $10 off from foodora.
