Last call to ride the North Shore mountains

Apr 17 2017, 9:36 pm

Heads up skiers and snowboarders. Today is your last opportunity to hit the slopes on the North Shore mountains.

After an incredible season Seymour and Cypress will shut their lifts for the season today, calling time on what’s been an amazing year for the city’s pow-hounds.

Over on Cypress there’s been 1231 cm on the season while Seymour has had a staggering 1491 cm of the white stuff.

Sure the weather isn’t great, but you know what they say: even the worst day on the mountains beats the best day off of it.

So get out there and enjoy the slopes while you still can.

But don’t worry if you’re not ready to hang up your board / boots just yet. With a stunning 1174 cm of snow so far this season, including 26 cm over the past week, Grouse Mountain recently announced it would stay open until April 30 (and maybe even beyond) to give riders every opportunity to make the most of the stunning spring conditions.
