Newborn baby found abandoned in a Mission dumpster has died: RCMP

A newborn baby abandoned in Mission has died according to RCMP.

On November 23, Mission RCMP discovered the newborn baby abandoned in a dumpster near the 33600-block of Prentis Avenue.

The baby was hospitalized and remained in critical condition until Thursday, November 29, when she passed away.

RCMP say the cause of death is still being investigated.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested in relation to the incident has since been released. No charges have been laid.

Mission RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
