Safe to say I can see how this was a billion dollar investment/development, whatever you want to call it. The buildings aren’t anything special, but they definitely aren’t crappy either. I love the fact that they are mid-rise buildings built to a more human scale. However, when you look at these photos you quickly realize the real money was put in the public realm and landscaping which ties in well with the neighbourhoods industrial past. The Plaza across the Salt Building will be the focal point for the community and will become the neighbourhoods official gathering space. Perhaps, we finally got our public square that we’ve been looking for.
