There's a new moon snowshoeing tour on Grouse Mountain next week
FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
Explore the mountains after dark with Grouse Mountain’s New Moon Snowshoe Tours, taking place this month.
Happening over three separate, consecutive nights, the tours begins by traveling though Grouse Mountain’s Light Walk, before heading in to the wilderness lit by headlamps.
The event offers a “balance of City views and mountain wilderness,” meant to leave those who attend with “a lasting connection with the mountains,” according to organizers.
The tours are led by experienced snowshoe guides who take groups to some of their favourite places on the mountain.
And though the word “moon” is part of the event’s name, the tours will “have no glow from the moon,” according to the event’s Facebook page.
This means that the stars will “shine brightly as we learn about the stories they have to share.”
For those who would like to participate, but do not own snowshoes, the mountain rents them out for $10 a pair, but headlamps are included in the tours.
For those who can’t make the January event, Grouse is offering two more tours – one in February, and one in March.
