For the first time ever, to mark Canada 150, the National Arts Centre Orchestra is going on tour across Canada.

Led by acclaimed Music Director Alexander Shelley, the cross-country tour commences this spring in the Atlantic Provinces and will feature internationally renowned, 10-time JUNO winning violinist James Ehnes as well as numerous other concert performances and education and outreach programs.

Over the summer and into the fall, the tour is set to make its way from Central Canada to the West Coast, with performances planned in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria, and Vancouver.

“2017 is an incredible year for Canada and for all Canadians,” said Music Director Alexander Shelley in a news release. “What better way to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation than by putting together a line-up of concerts and education events featuring the best artists and musicians Canada has to offer, and bringing it right to the doorsteps of Canadians all across the country.”
