Join Canada Place and Port Metro Vancouver for the fourth annual National Aboriginal Day Celebration at Canada Place this Sunday, June 22. Enjoy a wide variety of Aboriginal stage performances, including three-time world champion hoop dancer Alex Wells, as well as drumming and dance workshops, storytelling and artisan demonstrations.
National Aboriginal Day is officially designated on Saturday, June 21, 2014 to coincide with the summer solstice. This is a special opportunity to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. The celebration kicks off at Canada Place at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with a traditional Coast Salish welcome.
