Nothing gets us going like a new list of restaurants to check out.

New and limited time feature menus, fresh concepts, expansions from well-established eateries, and last call at soon-to-close-forever spots – it amounts to some serious eating in Vancouver this month.

In honour of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s spring exhibition, Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg, Market is launching a five-course tasting menu inspired by Murakami’s work. This will be available from February 5 to 28.

Dockside Restaurant

Dockside has recently relaunched their Sunday brunch service from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. With a menu that blends lunch favourites, appies, and classic options like omelettes, eggs Benedicts, and pancakes. You can’t go wrong with brunch at this spot on Granville Island.

Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House

On Saturday and Sundays from now until February 25 Joe Fortes is offering their annual celebration of one of our favourite brunch items – Benny Bonanza. This mid-morning event gives patrons a choice of Joe Fortes signature Eggs Benedict in three flavours – each only ringing in at $9.95.

Blue Heron Creamery


Blue Heron Creamery will be open on February 15. This is Vancouver’s first ever vegan cheese shop and they will offer six different varieties to start.

South Korean dessert spot Milkcow is officially up and running and ready for business. Westcoast Poké – Ironwood Plaza

Just a few weeks left to wait. Promising classic Cuban cocktails (among their own creations), share plates, and good vibes, this new Main Street bar is opening up in the former Charlie’s Little Italian space this month.

Liuyishou Hotpot

Popular Italian eatery Pronto Cafe is closing its doors likely by the first week of March, according to a recent Facebook post from the restaurant. This includes the closure of Prontino – a wine and cocktail bar that opened in 2014 in the building as an expansion of the business. This means February is your last month to head here, so make sure you do.
