19 movies and TV shows filming in Vancouver this February

It’s pretty neat when your favourite flick is filmed right in your backyard. The possibility of spotting that character you love – or the one you love to hate – all while having bragging rights, and taking in beautiful BC on the big screen.

Here are 18 TV shows and movies filming in Vancouver this February.

A Score to Settle

A Score to Settle will being filming in Vancouver this February through to May. Starring Nicolas Cage, the movie is about an ex-enforcer who wants redemption for a crime that put him away for 22 years.

The Perfection

Starring Allison Williams and Logan Browning, The Perfection will begin filming in Vancouver this February. The movie is said to be a horror-thriller about a cello prodigy directed by Richard Shepard.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists

Rumor has it that the new spin off of the Pretty Little Liars franchise may be filming in Vancouver this February. While it’s not set in stone yet, the series will star Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish — best known as playing main characters Alison and Mona from PLL. The new series is said to be an adaptation of the book series by Sara Sheppard.

Spontaneous

Spontaneous will be filming in Vancouver through to March. While there haven’t been any details on the plot just yet, the feature film will star Katherine Langford, best known for playing main character Hannah from Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.

Bad Times at the El Royale

Starring Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges, Bad Times at the El Royale will film in Vancouver from the end of January through to April. The movie is set in the 1960s and while the plot is being kept under wraps, it is said to be about a rundown hotel in California. New additions to the cast in January included Russell Crowe and Dakota Johnson.

Take Two – Season 1

Starring The OC star Rachel Bilson alongside Eddie Cibrian, Take Two is a new series that will start filming in town this February. The series will centre around Bilson who plays the former star of a hit police TV series who, after rehab, teams up with a private investigator to solve crimes.

Van Helsing – Season 3

Van Helsing will begin production of season three in Vancouver from February through to June. Starring Kelly Overton, the series follows Vanessa Helsing who is the daughter of vampire slayer Abraham Van Helsing.

Herbie – Season 1

Remember Herbie the ‘talking’ Volkswagen Beetle?! This new series will be a total reboot of the Disney franchise which began back in 1968 with The Love Bug film. Herbie season one — also being referred to as Fast Layne — will be on location from February through to March.

Blue Book – Season 1

Set to premiere on the History channel in 2018, Blue Book will continue filming in Vancouver through to April and stars Aidan Gillen, Laura Mennell, and Michael Harney.

This science fiction drama series is based around the investigations that were sponsored by the US Air Force regarding the UFO-related phenomena from the ’50s and ’60s, known by its nickname of “Project Blue Book”.

The Good Doctor – Season 1

The Good Doctor will be filming in Vancouver through to March. Starring Freddie Highmore as main character Shaun Murphy, the show revolves around an autistic surgeon who thinks outside the box and is recruited to work at a prestigious hospital.

Colony – Season 3

With previous series being filmed in Los Angeles, Colony will be in Vancouver to film its third season through February. Starring Sarah Wayne Callies and Josh Holloway, the series is a science-fiction drama set in the future after an alien invasion.

Riverdale – Season 2

The hit show Riverdale will continue filming its second season in Metro Vancouver this Februrary through to March. Now that we know who killed Jason Blossom, who knows what else season two will have in store!

A Series of Unfortunate Events – Season 2 and 3

Calling all Neil Patrick Harris fans! NPH will be in the Vancouver area filming for season two and three of A Series of Unfortunate Events through April 2018.

Based on the books by Daniel Handler, the show follows the lives of Violet, Klaus and Sunny, three siblings who just lost their parents in a mysterious fire.

Once Upon a Time – Season 7

The fairytale continues in Steveston Village this January to film the latest instalment of Once Upon a Time. The seventh season is said to be a total reboot and will feature all new season regulars, with a few of the old favourites returning like Rumplestiltskin and Captain Hook.

Supernatural – Season 13

Back for its 13th season, Supernatural will be filming in Metro Vancouver through April 2018. Starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, the series was renewed for another season in January and premiered on The CW at the beginning of October.

Arrow – Season 6

Everyone is a target on a new #Arrow, TONIGHT at 9/8c on The CW.

Arrow continues to shoot its sixth season in Vancouver through to April 2018, and star Stephen Amell was quoted as saying that he hopes this new season will be more like the actual comics.

The Flash – Season 4

The Flash will be on location in Vancouver filming for its fourth season through to April 2018. Episodes for season four began airing this past October on The CW.

Legends of Tomorrow – Season 3

Another The CW show filming in Vancouver through to February is Legends of Tomorrow. The series follows time master Rip Hunter who rallies together a group of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse from happening on earth and destroying all time.

Supergirl – Season 3

Supergirl is back to save the day! Season 3 of the hit series started filming in Vancouver over the summer and will continue through April.
