What: Alaria’s Fiddle is a full-length musical theatre performance developed by the Smithers-based Valley Youth Fiddlers in collaboration with master fiddlers from across Canada. Alaria’s Fiddle is a fictional tale about a young girl who lives with her mother on an isolated lighthouse on the west coast of Canada.
Where: BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts – 2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver
What: A 3 km, 5 km and 10 km run and walk starting in Stanley Park and finishing at the Olympic Cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza. Moms will be greeted at the finish line with a commemorative scarf, and all family members are welcome. Event includes a Finish Line Festival, kid’s activities, champagne giveaways, and more. In support of Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon.
What: Give the mothers and grandmothers in your life a good laugh (or several) with Vancouver TheatreSports League’s Mother’s Day Special. Featuring Gancia sparkling wines, and scenarios based on “Movie Moms”, “Momvolution” and more.
Where: The Improv Centre – 1502 Duranleau Street, Vancouver
What: If you would like to celebrate Mother’s Day, but your Mother has passed, or you are estranged from her, join others like you for an enjoyable brunch at Hart House Restaurant in Deer Lake Park. Bring a photo and/or story about your Mother to share. No age or gender requirement. Bookings taken up to May 10.

What: Listen to music, relax and paint with mom at Zealous Art. Bring your friends and the whole family along for a fun evening being creative. No experience needed, and yes there will be wine to enjoy.

Tickets: Online, $35. Includes a 12 x 16 canvas, a glass of wine, use of all art supplies and 2 hours art instruction.
What: For 50 years, the Royal Canadian Family Circus has been providing fun activities and entertainment for the entire family. Gather under the Big Top and be awed by gravity defying performers, including the Argentinian High Wire, the Motor Cycle Cyclone, the Acrobatic Aerial Strap & Silk act and more.

What: The best moms deserve special treatment. Bring Mom to Lougheed Town Centre’s 4th annual Mother’s Day portrait studio to enjoy an afternoon of pampering and giveaways. Moms will glam up with hair and makeup touch ups by Chatters and The Body Shop before their photo under a beautiful greenery arch. Enjoy live music from Sophia Danai while the kids are crafting up cards for Mom. The event is by donation and all proceeds benefit the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

What: Whoever you feel fits the role of your Mama bear, bring them to Cafe Deux Soleils this Mothers Day for a concert by Zach Lancaster, Jim O’Neill, Scotty Vigue and The Magic Pig. Moms get in for free.

What: Celebrate Mother’s day in a stunning woodland garden. Enjoy live music from the Armadillo Strings among masses of rhododendrons in full bloom. Gourmet coffees, teas and hot chocolate available for purchase, as well as a spring plant sale.
