The 10 most and least expensive cities to rent apartments in Canada right now (MAP)

One thing is for sure, Quebec is definitely the cheapest province to rent in.

But the rest of Canada is fairly expensive when it comes to rentals, according to a report by Canadian real estate search website RentSeeker.

To provide an overall look at Canada’s rental market, RentSeeker has published an infographic showing the top 10 most and least expensive cities across Canada.

And while Vancouver and Toronto are in the top 10 most expensive cities, it may come as a surprise that neither are ranked in the top two.

Also note, while the average rent for a 1 bedroom apartment in Vancouver is showing at $1,159, RentSeeker says that real-time asking price for newer rental properties in Vancouver is probably closer to $1,700 to $2,300. Same goes for Toronto, where average rentals for 1 bedroom apartments came in at $1,132, but the real-time asking price for newer apartment rentals on the market are closer to $1,300 to $1,400.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Quebec’s average rental is typically much less than the rest of Canada.
