Milestones restaurant on Robson Street shutters its doors

Another Milestones Bar & Grill in Vancouver has permanently closed.

The casual dining restaurant chain’s longtime location at 1145 Robson Street closed without warning last week, marking the chain’s third recent closure in Vancouver.

It shuttered its English Bay location last year, and that was followed up in February by the closure of the Yaletown location.

“Closing the location wasn’t something we took lightly, but the financial realities of that particular restaurant no longer made it feasible to operate profitably,” said Milestones in an email to Daily Hive.

“While we do not currently have plans to relocate the Robson location, we continue to look for opportunities to grow in Vancouver and British Columbia as a whole.”

But new restaurant businesses have been quick to swoop in on the spaces vacated by Milestones; the English Bay space has since been replaced with Hook Seabar while the Yaletown space will become a new steakhouse by Toptable Group, which operates restaurants such as Blue Water Cafe, Cincin, and Araxi.

The only remaining location within Vancouver is at the northwest corner of Broadway and Cambie Street in the Crossroads building.

Elsewhere in the Lower Mainland, there are eight locations, including Vancouver International Airport and Tsawwassen Mills. It recently renovated its locations at Park Royal, South Point, and Langley.

Milestones on Robson Street occupied a two-level space, with a bar area on the ground level and the dining area and kitchen on the second level.
