Iconic Vancouver sushi spot offers stellar special menu this month
There’s an iconic sushi spot in Coal Harbour that’s making headlines for more than the fact that it hosted Beyoncé and Jay-Z last week.
Miku’s special ten-year anniversary Kaiseki menu is a feast for the taste buds and the eyes.
The special celebratory menu is available now through October 30, and the Aburi sushi pioneer has created a six-course gastronomic experience combining a decade of popular dishes into one stellar meal.

Kicking off with an amuse bouche of Wagyu beef carpaccio with Asian pear, jalapeño ponzu, Asian greens, the next course is a head-turning Aburi sashimi and tartare combination with BC Botan Ebi, Hamachi, and Chū-toro Tartare positioned in a tantalizing tableau.
Next up comes a double dose of sea and land: The third course is an interactive Lobster Bouillabaisse made from half lobster tail, scallop, mussel, clam, and served with iwanori butter baguette.
For land, the plated-to-perfection Filet Mignon, a combo of AAA sterling silver, roasted market vegetables, veal jus and wasabi pickles.
And while all dishes are incredible in their own right, we all know when you’re dining at an Aburi Restaurants Group spot that you’re really just anticipating that earth-shatteringly wonderful sushi, aka the pièce de résistance which is the fifth course of this Anniversary Kaiseki menu.
This spread features a selection of Aburi Oshi, rolls, and nigiri sushi including Salmon Oshi Sushi, Ebi Oshi Sushi, Miku Roll, Aburi Ō-toro Nigiri, Aburi Kanpachi Nigiri, and Aburi Hotate Nigiri.
For a sweet finish, patrons who treat themselves to this menu will feast on Matcha Grand Marnier Tiramisu, an elevated twist on an Italian classic made from Grand Marnier-infused matcha almond sponge, mascarpone mousse, vanilla sablé, and white coffee ice cream.
This tasting menu is $110 per person and there is also the option to go for a premium sake pairing for an additional $50.
Special occasion or just a seriously dedicated Miku fan, this is one carefully-crafted culinary lineup that is not to be missed.
