Jose Bautista is on the move again.

After spending 10 seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, Bautista is now on his third MLB team in less than four months.

The New York Mets have traded Bautista to the Philadelphia Phillies, as the 37-year-old joins a pennant race. The Phillies are currently 2.5 games back of the final wild-card spot in the National League.

In return, the Mets will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations. The deal comes three days in advance of MLB’s August 31 waiver trade deadline.

Bautista hit for a .204 batting average, with nine home runs, 37 RBIs, and a .351 on-base percentage since signing with the Mets on May 22. His stint in New York came shortly after a failed one-month experiment with the Atlanta Braves.

This could very well be the end of the line for the 15-year Big League vet, who’s quite clearly in the twilight of his career.
