It was a busy night for homicide investigators in Metro Vancouver after three bodies were found in two separate incidents in two municipalities.

Vancouver Police are treating the discovery of two dead men inside a home on the 6000-block of Argyle Street near East 53rd Avenue as suspicious. According to VPD Staff Sergeant Randy Fincham, the discovery was made at approximately 4 pm on Tuesday.

“Police attended, along with the Coroners Service, and determined that two men had died inside the home,” he said. “That death is being treated as suspicious, until it is determined otherwise. The cause of their death is unknown at this time.”

Later in the evening, police in Richmond responded to reports of shots fired in the 6500 block of Ash Street. Upon arriving at the scene, Richmond RCMP officers found a dead man in the vicinity and the case has since been handed over to the region’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Few details are available at this time, but these could potentially be the first homicides of the year for Vancouver and Richmond. At this time, there is no reason to believe the incidents are connected.
