Metro Vancouver’s extended period of optimal weather for outdoor activities is expected to last until this Saturday.
Consecutive days of sunshine and warm temperatures reaching 25°C inland, with slightly cooler conditions near the water, are expected through the week, according to Environment Canada.
A strong high pressure system since last week has been responsible for the near-perfect conditions, but it will give way late Saturday and on Sunday when rainfall is forecasted.
This could be the last of this year’s summer weather as early forecasts call for a drop in temperatures to the mid teens by early next week.
Snow has already begun showing up in parts of Western Canada – at the upper elevations of Whistler and near Calgary over the weekend.
