It’s going to be another perfect day to be outdoors. A persistent high pressure ridge over Southern B.C. could lead to more temperature records being broken across Metro Vancouver today.

According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 30°C within inland areas, such as Surrey and Burnaby, and 24°C by the water at Vancouver International Airport.

For those planning outdoor activities, it is advised that sunscreen be applied as the UV index has been set to a high of 6. There will also be plenty of daylight as the sun will set at 8:30 p.m.

However, there will be a short break from sunny and warm weather this week; rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures are expected to return on Tuesday and Wednesday before another high pressure system moves in on Thursday through the weekend.

Early snow melt this spring prompted the early opening of the Grouse Grind on April 30.
