If the fight is 10% as good as the press conference, we’re about to witness the greatest boxing match of all-time.

The Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor hype tour stopped in Toronto on Wednesday – they were in Los Angeles on Tuesday and will stop in New York and London this week – and it did not disappoint.

McGregor, the UFC fighter who will attempt to defeat the undefeated boxing champion, was the clear favourite among Torontonians.

The Irish fighter got the crowd at Budweiser Stage to chant “fuck the Mayweathers” before going on an expletive-filled rant that was as crude as it was hilarious.

McGregor played to the crowd, even giving a shout out to Drake, the Toronto hip hop artist who he met with earlier.

“Shout out Drizzy Drake,” he said to the excitable crowd. “Started from the bottom now I’m here.”

McGregor proceeded to mock Mayweather’s attire, and suggested he couldn’t read.

Then it was Mayweather’s turn.

After the crowd finished singing “ole ole ole,” they began a “pay your taxes” chant.

Wearing a Canadian flag TMT (The Money Man) t-shirt and hat, the boxer was unable to win over fans, and was greeted to a chorus of loud boos.

Turning to McGregor, the American fighter shouted: “One thing we do know, the fans can’t fight for you!”

Mayweather can’t beat McGregor on the microphone, but we’ll soon find out if he can beat him in the ring. The fight takes place in Las Vegas on August 26.
