Sometime in mid-March it appears McDonald’s Canada was hacked.

Their career websites – English and French – were subject to a cyber-attack that has lead to the personal information from some 95,000 job applicants being compromised.

Those affected are anyone who applied for a job at McDonald’s Canada between March 2014 and March 2017.

Everything from applicant’s names, addresses, and emails to phone numbers and employment background have been compromised. However, no social insurance numbers, banking or health information was included in the hacked information.

Once McDonald’s Canada learned about the breach they shut down the site and launched an investigation that remains ongoing.

All applicants who were directly affected by this privacy breach will be notified by a letter in the mail. If you believe you were affected you can also call a dedicated assistance line at: 1 (877) 238-3790, which is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm EST and provide reference number 7827032417 when calling. You can also visit this website for more information.
