Is Tebow time over in Denver? It sounds like it, as Free Agent Quarterback Peyton Manning has chosen to sign with the Denver Broncos.  Once the deal becomes official, Denver will try to trade Tim Tebow, according to sources close to the situation.  Manning told his Agent Tom Condon to negotiate the predetermined details of a contract that would end up Manning signing with the Broncos. Manning was released from the Colts on March 7th, which then began the Manning Sweepstakes, most importantly the “Who can impress Peyton more” game.  Manning formally called the Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway on Monday morning to tell him the news.  Manning also called the Titans and the 49ers to inform them of the news.

A contract between Manning and the Broncos is expected to be a formality.  Elway and Manning first the discussed the details of a five-year, $90+ million dollar contract during their March 9 meeting in Denver,  the first time Manning visited a team during the sweepstakes.  Elway reportedly told Manning during last Friday’s trip to Durham, North Carolina, where Manning has done the majority of his training that he wanted to finalize a fair deal for both sides. Details such as guaranteed money, structure of the deal etc. All will be addressed in the contract according to sources.  The Broncos still have a few concerns with Manning’s medical condition. He passed the physical exam that a team of Broncos doctors administered during the visit to Durham.

Manning also told all teams that he still believes there’s more rehabbing to achieve better arm strength and endurance that are related to the nerve regeneration due to his neck injuries.  According to ESPN Stats and Information, Manning will become the 5th NFL player (and QB) to win multiple MVP awards with one team and then jump ship to another.  The others were the ageless Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Joe Montana, and Johnny Unitas.  Elway now has helped produce Denver’s biggest win since he led the Broncos to their last Super Bowl win in January 1999.  Several Broncos players tweeted in Celebration including Willis McGahee and defensive end Elvis Dumervil.  “To all my free agents across the nfl, I think u know what time it is. It’s about to go down…,” McGahee wrote.

While Manning soon will arrive in Denver, Tebow will be leaving.   According to sources, Denver will try to trade Tebow – the same guy who led them to an 8-8 finish, an AFC West title and a first round playoff victory over former Super Bowl Champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers.  I would hope Tebow will be leaving Denver, whenever you get promised that “you will be the number 1 Quarterback next season” and then be treated like this? Tim deserves better.   All contract details should be finalized in the next few days for Peyton, whenever the contract is finalized, let the “Where does Tim go?” game begin. Whether it be his state of Florida, Many teams will be calling the Broncos wanting the services of Tim Tebow.

That’s all for now folks! You guys know the drill, follow me on twitter @kevincawthra.  Make sure to share this with family, friends.  Until next time
