A man screaming for help in a Vancouver Westside neighbourhood late Thursday night then disappeared has prompted an investigation by police.

According to a release, residents in the 2400 block of West 14th Avenue in Kitsilano called police at approximately 11 p.m. when a man outside screamed for help. A second caller on the same block also contacted emergency services after a man banged on their door.

Both callers said they saw a second man lurking in the dark and a number of vehicles on the street at the time of the incident. One of the vehicles was described as a silver Jeep Wrangler.

“Investigators attended the scene and gathered evidence that has lead them to believe that someone may have been injured and was looking for a safe place to go,” reads the release.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
