Man dies after being crushed by dump truck at North Vancouver construction site

A 24-year-old man has died after being crushed by a dump truck at a construction site in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver emergency services were called to a construction site near Handsworth Road and Timberline Place on June 5 at approximately 10:30 am.

Authorities say the man was working close to a dump truck at the construction site when he was knocked down and crushed by the truck. The Vancouver resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This tragic incident is in the early stages of investigation,” said Cpl. Richard De Jong of North Vancouver RCMP, in a release.

North Vancouver RCMP Serious Crime Unit, ICARS (Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service), Work Safe BC, and the BC Coroners Service are currently assisting with the investigation.
