An elderly man is dead after after he was hit by a car while crossing the street at a marked crosswalk in East Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident took place just before 2 pm, at Victoria Drive and Kingsway Avenue.
Officers were called to the scene, where they found a man suffering from serious injuries, as a result of the incident.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away.
Police said they believe the man was crossing Kingsway in the crosswalk, when a southbound car on Victoria Drive made a left turn onto Kingsway and struck him.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
This is Vancouver’s fourth pedestrian death in 2018.
