Man dies after early-morning collision in Delta

One man is dead after a crash in Delta early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2:40 am, Delta Police responded to reports of a collision between a semi-truck and a car on Deltaport Way, near Arthur Drive.

Investigators said indications are that the car travelling eastbound on Delta Port crossed into the westbound lanes going head on into the path of a semi-truck.

The 40-year-old driver of the car, a Surrey man, was rushed to hospital, but died enroute from his injuries. His family was notified of the incident.

The driver of the semi, “although not physically injured, was transported to hospital suffering from shock,” Delta Police said in a release.

Delta Police continue to investigate the incident.
