A man in his 50s has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a senior who was assaulted outside Costco in downtown Vancouver in December.

According to VPD, Thomas Stephen Toth, 58, of Vancouver has been charged with manslaughter. Police say Toth was identified early in the investigation.

The charges come several months after 86-year-old Orlando Ocampo of Vancouver was pushed to the ground outside the Costco located at Expo Boulevard on December 20, 2017.

The elderly man hit his head on the ground and later succumbed to his injuries.

Toth has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 14.
