Man allegedly kills baby goose on Vancouver seawall

DH Vancouver Staff May 28, 2015 11:37 am

A man allegedly killed a baby goose by the seawall near Science World on Monday.

VPD’s Constable Brian Montague says the man was with two other people taking pictures of a mother goose with her baby geese, when witnesses say he ran at them and managed to grab one of the babies.

Witnesses started yelling at him to put down the goose, and he allegedly responded by yelling profanities and making inappropriate gestures.

He then allegedly went behind a large rock and when he emerged, he was without the baby goose. He continued swearing and making “profane gestures” with his hands.

After the three walked away, witnesses went behind the rock where they found the baby goose dead.

Police were unable to locate the man or his two friends. The dead baby goose was turned over to animal control officers.

The VPD are in the process of locating surveillance video of the man and his two friends. People with information on the incident are being asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department.
