The idea doesn’t have to stop there. You can do something about it on Saturday, June 10, or Thursday, June 22, by attending Make The Leap. It’s a free workshop where you can develop a three-step action plan used by successful entrepreneurs at the Launch Academy.

Since 2012, more than 1,000 entrepreneurs and 500 startups have used the plan, collectively generated more than $100 million as a result, and created over 1,000 new jobs in Vancouver. This means that something is working well for all of them, starting with three steps and a plan.

With a curated a community of like-minded entrepreneurs, startup training programs, unmatched mentorship, pitch competitions and talks featuring the North America’s best entrepreneurs, Launch Academy has become Vancouver’s most vibrant tech community built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs.

Launch Academy is hosting two Make The LEAP workshops in partnership with Daily Hive and Google Shop. The first workshop on June 10 will be publicly held at Google Shop on Cambie Street, and the second will be privately held at Launch Academy on West Hastings.

Admission to both events is free, so all you have to do is register online in advance to hold your place.

Becoming a successful entrepreneur is tough work and you never know what obstacles you could face along the way. But that’s where Make The Leap comes in.

Things you’ll learn at the one-day workshops: 

• How to create a simple 3-step action plan for your idea or business
• Key startup methodologies, strategies, and tactics
• Understanding of lean startup, lean canvas and how to take any business idea from thinking to execution
• How to start out with very limited or no resources at all

You don’t need to already be an entrepreneur, or even have any business knowledge to attend. All you need is to have an idea and bring your passion for that idea with you.

After the workshop you’ll receive an invitation to attend a one-on-one consulting session with serial entrepreneur, advisor, writer, keynote speaker, and General Manager of Launch Academy, Hussein Hallak.

This meeting will help you get your idea off the ground and move forward with planning.

With more than 25 years experience, Hallak has built more than 10 startups, mentored more than entrepreneurs, led thousands of hours of live workshops, and presented tech TV to 40 million viewers. Not only this, but he’s been featured in Forbes, BBC, Entrepreneur, TextBook, Roundhouse Radio, and Notable.

Additionally, he’s the executive director at TiE Vancouver, an instructor at Capilano University, a tech panelist on Roundhouse Radio, and former director of Marketing at TEDxStanleyPark – one of the world’s largest and most successful TEDx events.
