Make Music Vancouver takes over Gastown streets (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)

Yesterday evening, Make Music Vancouver shut down much of Gastown’s Water Street, transforming it into a series of stages and dance floors.

The event first began in Gastown in 2011, but it joins a global live music celebration that takes place every year in over a hundred countries within more than 450 cities. Make Music first began in Paris in 1981 when thousands of amateur and professional musicians flooded the streets and capital.

Make Music Vancouver celebrates music in the same way, a free grassroots event that brings the local community together just like Car Free Day.
