UPDATE at 9:40 am: The Lions Gate Bridge has reopened in both directions. Expect delays to continue until traffic backup is cleared.
EARLIER:
The Lions Gate Bridge between downtown Vancouver and the North Shore is currently closed in both directions due to a police incident.
The incident began at approximately 7:30 am and is causing major traffic backups on both ends of the bridge. Drivers are advised to use the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge and allow extra travel time.
TransLink says bus routes 240, 241, 246, 247, 250, 253, and 257 are affected with delays.
