Vancouver-based “tech incubator” Launch Academy has launched an eight-week program to help new entrepreneurs, students and people looking to start a new career “to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to build lean startups.”
“Influenced by the Lean Startup Movement, The Lean Entrepreneur Program is designed to foster your ability to think differently in your startup journey to develop innovative products and disrupt marketplaces. Taught by the best instructors that Vancouver has to offer, this program allows you to gain the knowledge you need to build a lean startup and hone your ability to generate and implement new ideas. Whether you are a student, recent graduate or a career changer, you will gain valuable hands on experience with everything from incorporating your business to acquiring your first customer to designing beautiful landing pages.”
Instructors include former employees/partners from Google and Deloitte and a “partner at a major law firm, full-stack developers and many more successful entrepreneurs and industry professionals.”
“Tuition includes 16 [classes], eight weeks of office space at Launch Academy, startup perks like $1,000 in Amazon Web Services credits, access to Launch Academy partners’ events for free or at a discounted price, and access to Launch Academy mentors.”

“Founded on the values of innovation, opportunities and accountability, Launch Academy addresses the lack of startup education and resources affecting Vancouver entrepreneurs. Launch Academy aims to build a vibrant startup ecosystem and a prosperous economy where new jobs are created and new markets are discovered.
Launch Academy is a pre-accelerator program that helps entrepreneurs execute on their startups through education, mentorship, lean metrics and networking opportunities. Launch Academy has established an environment where ideas are vetted, business models are tested and successes are celebrated.
In just over a year Launch Academy has grown from 12 desks in a shared office with GrowLab to a beautiful 12,000 square foot office in the heart of Gastown, dubbed The Center for Entrepreneurship in Vancouver. Launch Academy houses [more than] 70 startups and 150 entrepreneurs. The Center for Entrepreneurship is also home to Vancouver’s largest accelerator – GrowLab, LX Ventures, Microsoft’s new Windows Apps Lab, Garibaldi Capital, Strutta, Perch, and more.
To date, Launch Academy has helped [more than] 150 entrepreneurs build their teams, raise seed rounds, get accepted into accelerator programs, form new strategic partnerships, acquire new customers, hire their first employee, and most importantly, fail fast and pivot.”
