Police investigating a 7-year-old child's death in Langley

A seven-year-old child is dead, and homicide investigators are now at a townhouse complex in Langley in connection with the incident.

Police said that on July 22, at approximately 9:30 pm, police and emergency health services responded to a call for assistance at a residence in the 20000-block of 68 Avenue in Langley.

When police arrived they found 7-year-old girl deceased, who has since been identified as Aaliyah Rosa.

A 36-year-old woman, who investigators believe was involved in this incident, remains in the care of medical staff.

Police confirmed that this was an isolated incident between people known to each other and there is no risk to public safety.

“IHIT investigators are now looking to hear from anyone who may have seen Aaliyah in the Langley area on Sunday, July 22,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang.

“The family is urging the media to respect their privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
