A new program announced by Whistler Blackcomb owner, Vail Resorts will give Canadian kids in Kindergarten to Grade 5 the chance to ski the resort for free starting next season.

On Wednesday, the company said it will be introducing its Epic SchoolKids Pack to eligible participants next year.

Already a popular draw at the company’s US resorts, the program will offer Canadian and Washington State children in kindergarten to Grade 5, a total of five free days of skiing or snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb.

For first-time skiers or snowboarders, the package includes one free lesson and equipment rental.

“We are thrilled to offer Epic SchoolKids at Whistler Blackcomb next winter season,” said Pete Sonntag, chief operating officer for Whistler Blackcomb. “Fostering kids’ passion for skiing and snowboarding and providing them with an experience of a lifetime is an important part of our company’s mission.”

The program is “an incredible way to connect kids and families with the mountains,” he added. “We’re excited to welcome kindergartners through grade five students to register for the program this spring.”

Epic SchoolKids registration will be available for a limited time and is subject to holiday and peak restrictions.

Vail resorts said information on how to register for Epic Schoolkids will be shared online later this spring.
