Securing a full-time job in Metro Vancouver can be more difficult than it seems. There were almost 2.5 million people living in the Greater Vancouver area alone in 2016. Naturally, that means high competition for employment.

And you can only showcase your skills and personality so much through an email. Plus, sending out 30+ applications per day to receive no response literally hurts your soul. That’s why meeting prospective employers in person always wins out.

On Thursday, March 8 you can attend the Tri-Cities Mega Hiring Fair at the Best Western Plus in Coquitlam where you’ll have the opportunity to meet more than 25 local employers all looking to fill a wide range of positions. If you’re living in the Tri-Cities right now or planning to move there, this could help set you on the right career track.

The event is being hosted by Avia Employment Services and WorkBC – and it’s free to attend. All you have to do is register via Eventbrite ahead of time. The fair has something for everyone; whether you’re looking to switch up the gears in your career, if you’re a recent graduate, or even if you have moved to Canada within the past six months.

Reps from Hudson’s Bay, JWR, McDonald’s, Nurse Next Door, Pomme, Paladin Security, Canadian Armed Forces, TELUS, Value Village, Thrifty Foods, SMX, UGTS, UHaul, and Alpine, among many others will be ready to speak to you at the event.

Additionally, you’ll get to speak with career experts on site who will be offering resume tips and advice. WorkBC will also be providing information on relevant services that can help you perfect how you apply for jobs.
