It’s a bean dip like no other … One of the colourful giant jelly beans in Charleson Park seems to have mysteriously jumped into False Creek.
The adventurous yellow jelly bean – made of fibre glass and weighing 320kg – was spotted in the water around 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
It’s part of a piece called Love Your Bean, featuring three enormous jelly beans – yellow, blue and red – designed by Canadian sculptor Cosimo Cavallaro.
The beans have been displayed in Charleson Park since 2014, when they went on display as part of the Vancouver Biennale. The other, less intrepid beans remain in place.
So how did this enterprising yellow bean come to take a dip in the waters of False Creek? And where will it go next? If you know, let us know!
