FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will be visiting Burnaby tomorrow and hosting a free afternoon event.
The event invites locals to “hear how New Democrats are pushing the government for solutions people urgently need now.”
Long-term jobs for young workers, cutting out-of-pocket health care costs, and better access to affordable housing” are all mentioned.
According to CBC News, the Federal leader intends to take part in the upcoming byelection in the Burnaby South riding of British Columbia.
Events will be taking place in the Greater Vancouver area over the next few days as early preparation.
Singh was elected as the leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada earlier in October of 2017. The former criminal defence lawyer entered Ontario’s provincial politics in 2011 when he was elected MLA of the riding of Bramalea-Gore-Malton.
He’s the first visible minority to be elected leader of a major Canadian federal party and was the first turban-wearing Sikh to sit in Ontario’s legislature.
