Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
In honour of the Irish tradition, we bring you some Irish real estate news direct from the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland.
Luggala Lodge is a historic 27 bedroom, 18 bathroom castle built back in 1787. It’s composed of 7 bedrooms within the main house, 4 within the guest lodge and a further 16 spread out between 7 estate lodges and cottages throughout the estate.
In 1937, Ernest Guinness bought Luggala and gave it as a wedding present to his daughter, Oonagh Guinness, on her marriage to Lord Oranmore and Browne. Oonagh then turned it into ‘the most decorative honeypot in Ireland.’
The Guinness estate is hidden in a secluded Irish valley, and sits on 5,000 acres. Located about 45 kms southwest of Dublin, Luggala is usually used as a rental property (for about $30,000 per week) and is now on the market for roughly $40 million (CAD).
Wondering what that money gets you? Have a peak at the estate.
