Vancouver is getting its first Farmer and Italian Night Market beginning next month at the Italian Cultural Centre in East Vancouver.
The market brings together the tastes of Italy with fresh produce grown locally, in addition to delicious food prepared by Il Centro’s chef and handmade products from local artisans.
It offers a taste of Italian cuisine and music featuring the classic mandolin and accordion. There will also be children’s activities provided by the centre’s Italian school teachers.
“Il Mercato – the Friday Night Italian Market – is an opportunity for us to share our rich culinary history with the broader community and create a unique Mediterranean atmosphere in East Vancouver,” said Mauro Vescera, Il Centro’s Executive Director.
The night market will run every third Friday of the month beginning in August until November.
Dates: Friday, August 15; Friday, September 19; Friday, October 17; and Friday, November 21
Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: 3075 Slocan Street, Vancouver (at Grandview Highway in East Vancouver)
