A rather unconventional sight: a tree fell down on top of a car yesterday just outside the main entrance of Lord Strathcona Elementary School. Luckily, there were no passengers inside the car at the time nor were there any bystanders, especially school children.

If a tree falls in the city, does anyone hear it? Well, the school children and their teachers probably did. And obviously, calling 911 is necessary if a tree fall presents an immediate hazard to pedestrians, vehicles, and property. If it doesn’t present an immediate threat, you should call 311 – it is the City of Vancouver’s hotline for maintenance services and the removal of hazardous debris. For more information on 311, click here.
