Pop-up fitting rooms made from nearly 4 TONNES of ice take over Queen Elizabeth Plaza
Warm vibes were in the air on a cold December morning in Vancouver, as UNIQLO and Metropolis at Metrotown teamed up to give their hardcore fans an unforgettable freezing-yet-heartwarming experience last Saturday.
Nearly four metric tonnes of ice bricks were used to construct Vancouver’s first Ice Fitting Rooms – three solid ice stalls where bold Vancouverites could feel the frosty cold for the chance to win what they tried on.
Fans waited to be one of the first through the frosty gauntlet to try and score free HEATTECH innerwear – one of UNIQLO’s signature product lines, designed to retain body heat in chilly conditions.
Fans entered the ice cold fitting rooms in their full winter layers and transformed to come out and strut their stuff for the crowd.
Some got a little more into it than others.
The event also featured a “warm-up zone” with complimentary green tea and an icy photo wall with a snow machine for a super cool selfie-op.
A donation of warm clothing was also made to Covenant House. Cheers to that.
