Each day, half-a-milion people choose transit to get around in Metro Vancouver, whether it’s to work, school or play.

As a thank you, TransLink’s celebrating its customers, transit enthusiasts and all things we love about transit with contests and prizes during I Love Transit, October 1 to 5, 2018! Here are five ways you can celebrate:

1. Share your love using #ILoveTransit

As usual, TransLink is welcoming submissions of essays, photos, videos, and anything else you like to profess your love your transit to the world. Share it to your social media channel of choice using the hashtag #ILoveTransit. Not on social media? You can email it to [email protected] too.

(Psst…check TransLink’s Buzzer blog to see how you can win a Monthly Pass!)

2. A teacher? Win a field trip

If you’re a teacher of a grade three through 12 class, you can enter to win an all-inclusive and behind-the-scenes field trip to TransLink’s operating facilities! That means touring their bus depot where they fix and update everything on a bus, and an exclusive visit to the SkyTrain control centre.

Your class will also meet with key people and learn how we plan for the future and move about half-a-million people a day across Canada’s largest service area. Check the video to see what your class will do on the day.

3. Colour The Buzzer

Colour and complete the illustration in the latest edition of The Buzzer—now available onboard buses, SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express.

4. A K-12 student? Ride the bus for free!

TransLink’s inviting K-12 students to test-drive transit as part of I Love Transit. Children and youth ride the bus for free from start of service Monday, Oct. 1 through the end of service Friday, Oct. 5. Please note that this does not include SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express.

The goal is to promote transit use and active participation at an early age, to encourage transit use throughout their lives.

5. Rock your transit merchandise

Wear it loud, wear it proud during I Love Transit! We know you got transit merchandise from the TransLink Store. Show the world using the hashtag #ILoveTransit on social media.
