Humpback whales breach surface in amazing display at BC lodge (VIDEO)

Guests at British Columbia’s Great Bear Lodge were lucky enough to spot a small pod of humpback whales breaching the surface in front of the lodge earlier this week.

The whales were seen to be breaching the surface to engage in bubble-netting – a unique and complex feeding method used by humpback whales in particular.

The Great Bear Lodge is located “50 air miles from Port Hardy” in British Columbia, and is renowned for being an outstanding wildlife viewing location – in particular, grizzly bears. Who would have thought it would also be a prime location to witness this breathtaking show of nature?
