Bad news festival-goers, the weather reports are in and it looks like this year’s Pemberton Festival is going to be a rainy one.
Weather reports show there will be lows of 18, highs of 23 with 60% chance of rain and even, (gulp) some thunderstorms.
With that in mind, we reached out to two local Vancouver fashion bloggers, Jill from The August Diaries and Cara, from A Fashion Love Affair to get their take on how to get Coachella-inspired looks for a rainy Pemberton Music Fest.
6 ways to look stylish during a rainy music festival
Cara Says….
Shorts and rain boots
Do Festival Style a la Kate Moss and pair your short shorts with gumboots – the taller, the better! It’s perfect for walking through rain & mud while still looking festival ready.
Bomber jackets
Bomber jackets are currently trending and they make the perfect festival jacket because they are made of nylon so are no worries in the rain! They also look cute tied around your waist when the sun does make an appearance.
Headgear
A wide brimmed hat or a headband is the perfect way to keep your hair looking fresh even during or after a downpour. Cover up in the hat during the rain, and put your hair in a loose topknot taming the flyways with a headband. Perfectly boho and rain ready!
Jill Says….
Wear leather booties
Booties all the way. I would wear them with or without rain as it gets so dusty and muddy. These will save your feet, especially when it gets wet.
Bring a jacket
Think again before bringing an umbrella. Trying to maneuver an umbrella in a massive crowd of people is a nightmare. Go with a stylish rain jacket instead.
Festival goers will have a chance to switch up their looks on the grounds as the EXPRESS Airstream pop-up shop will be on-site featuring the latest summer looks straight off the racks.
Attendees can style their own looks digitally, participate in giveaway opportunities and purchase their favourite items from the pop-up. For location and more details, visit @Express on Twitter and Instagram.
